Dick Peabody
| Per Dodger: This photo of Dick Peabody was taken at Hop Kiln winery
during the filming of "Ollie Joe." The large ventilation stacks
on the top of the building establish that location.

Fred Dale. Per Dodger: Photo 7 with the fellow on top of the tank most
likely was from the episode "The Gun". The large pine covered
hillside is very characteristic of the Korbel area near Guerneville where
that episode was filmed.

Per Filly: Looks as if it could be Jack Hogan. The set-up could be the
German side of "The Gun" where they have it hidden under netting.
Per
Green Recruit: This is at Korbel Winery and is from 'The Gun.' This
is the position of the German gun that wipes out the Americans at the
begging of the episode. The field is located straight across the main
highway from the winery.

Anyone have any idea on this one? Has anyone seen Barbara Turner, to
know if this is her? That hideous 60's outfit she's wearing makes me
glad that stripes like that never came back into style.
Per
Filly: I've not seen Pictures from that time with BT in short hair.
Besides, she
was a teensy woman. Whoever is in that Tony the Tiger suit looks a lot
more physically developed than the Pictures I've seen of Babs.

Per Green Recruit: This appears to be the ruins from the 'Ollie Joe' episode.
Again, Korbel area.

Per Dodger: The half-track seen in Photos

Joe".
July 1966, many photos, most from Korbel,
Hop Kiln or the Guerneville
area during filming for the episodes "Ollie Joe" and "The
Gun".

Per Dodger: July 1966, Photo #27. This
photo is taken at Franklin Canyon at the north end of the reservoir.
This area is known as the `surge basin', where the water from the California
aqueduct is pumped up from the floor of the San Fernando Valley and
enters the reservoir. Two Combat! episodes show this location briefly,
"Run, Sheep, Run" and "Chapel at Able Five".

Vic Morrow, center of picture
Per Dodger: Photos #35, #43, #44, #45
and #62 are from "Ollie Joe". Claude Akins appears in the
far right in #62. We have not been able to find the location where these
scenes were filmed. It doesn't resemble the area around Hop Kiln or
Korbel. My hunch is that it could be further west around Cassini's or
Duncans Mill.
|
|
36
Per Dodger: Photos #36, #47 and #49
are taken on the Russian River at a `summer bridge'. This bridge is
seen at the conclusion of "Ollie Joe". These
bridges are located west of Guerneville, about 15 miles from Hop Kiln,
and are temporary bridges put in place during the summer season. Many
other cast photos in this series appear to have been
taken in this area.

Per

It appears that trailers and RVs are placed along the road, possibly
to accommodate the production crew. Note also the Korbel buildings barely
visible on the upper right side.

Dennis Hopper?
Per Lynne Tremblay: For July 1966, there's
the face of Dennis Hopper looking out from behind a big CBS sign in pic
no. 50.

Per Dodger: July 1966, Photos #63 to
71. Purely speculation on my part, but this
series shows blueprints and photos of a house and adjacent building
during construction. Photo #63 is an artist drawing of a building
and closely resembles the building under construction in Photo #68.
Note also a floor plan in Photo #69. Could this be Earl Parker's home?

Telly Savalas, with Ron Harper to his left, his back to the camera.
With many thanks to Marty, who sent us the unaired "Garrison's Gorilla's"
pilot, this picture has now been identified as taken on the set of that
pilot. Rick, Jack, Dick and Conlan were in the first 10 minutes of the
pilot, playing their Combat! characters as they help the cast of Garrison's
Gorilla's when they parachute jump into Europe to help win the war.

A very big thank you goes to Gary Lunder, for finally identifying this

Possibly Ollie or Earl Parker and Buddy
Pantsari
Per Green Recruit: #4 is not from Combat! because the German halftrack
is all wrong. The Combat! halftrack had a turret and covered top. This
one appears to be an M-3 halftrack with an American 50 cal. mounted on
it.
